Found: Power in My Weakness

And He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness…’ (2nd Corinthians 12:9 NASB).

My ungrateful heart can think of a few birthday or Christmas gifts that were rarely used, or that I might have wanted to return.

In fact, my husband and I received a huge frying pan for a wedding gift almost twenty years ago. We never thought we would use it. For nineteen years we carried it with us from move to move until we finally gave it away during our pre-Christmas give away purge.

The next month our family grew when we opened our home to two international students. Cooking for six is a little different than cooking for four and I sure could use that oversized pan!

While we may not realize the value of a certain gift until it is gone, one gift is priceless.

God knows us so well that He gave us the greatest gift when He gave us His Son.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8 NASB).

Grace, by way of the cross, is the priceless gift of God.

When we are strong, we tend not to seek God for help or guidance because we feel invincible. We feel as though we can “do life” ourselves. We reject His priceless, precious gift.

If God gave us everything we desired, would we still desire Him?
~ Beautiful Legacy: Our Roots Run Deep

When we feel week, we seek God for strength. We receive the gift of His amazing grace and He fills us with the power of the Holy Spirit.

There is no room for worry, stress, or anxiety in a grace-filled heart.

When our strength comes from the power of the Holy Spirit, we can walk confidently through this crazy adventure called “life” one day at a time.

Many Blessings,

Basking in His Light
