Found: The Time to Follow

When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. John 10:4

Occasionally, with fresh coffee in hand, we walk down to the dock to watch the sunrise with the alligators.

One particular morning, my husband intentionally walked a few steps ahead of us. The children didn’t know why, but I knew. I knew exactly what his tender heart was doing.

He was walking before us – clearing the spiders and the webs which were thick with the morning dew.

He led the way. We followed close behind in the safety of his shadow.

The children followed their father.

Even if they couldn’t see him a few feet ahead, they know their father by the sound of his voice.

Do you know He goes before you to make the way smooth?

He wants us to slow down enough to hear the gently promptings of the Holy Spirit.

Because the only way to get to know someone is to spend time with Him.

Our culture is fast and in the busyness of raising a family, who has extra time these days?

We find time for things we prioritize.  Ouch, the words stung.

He goes before you.  Find time to find Him and He will be found by you.

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you… Jeremiah 29:13, 14 (NASB)

Thank you, Tina! We do live in a beautiful spot, don’t we?

Such a peaceful reminder for me this a.m. HE goes before me. Reminds me of the Chris Tomlin song, “Whom Shall I Fear.” Lyric excerpt: “I know who goes before me….”

Absolutely! Yes, that song so perfectly shows how He goes before us… I’m so grateful His angel armies, “Are always by my side!” Thanks for stopping by, Debra! XOXO
