May Your Heart Know…
“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1:9-11
The desire of our hearts is to know God’s will for our lives and the lives of those we love. But, how do we know God’s will? Knowing God’s will begins with knowing God, and understanding the sacrificial love He gave to the world for each one of us.
When we understand the depth of His love for us, we can begin to understand what it means to live lives filled with love and compassion toward others.
God showed His love to me on the cross.
In Christ, I am forgiven. I can forgive.
In Christ, mercy was shown to me. I can show mercy.
In Christ, grace was given to me. I can give grace.
In Christ, the Holy Spirit takes up residence in our hearts. He opens the eyes of our hearts to see needs, so we may meet them. He opens the eyes of our hearts and gives us discernment. He opens the eyes of our hearts and shows us the way to go, so we may bear fruit for Him – and that is the will of The Father.
Heavenly Father,
I praise you for who You are. I praise you for The Father’s love which you gave to the world as a free gift to those who choose to accept it. I pray that you would continue to open the eyes of our hearts to give us discernment and to see Your will, so we may have knowledge, depth, and insight. Each day may we listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, so that we may walk according to Your will and bear fruit.
In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen
May your heart turn towards Him, and may He be found by you when you seek Him with all of your heart…
