From Gift to Giver

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 (NIV)

We have the power to choose what things consume our thoughts every day.

Do we trust the truth found in God’s Word, or do we follow the ebb and tide of our emotions?

When God becomes the One thing that is a part of all things, we are able to see all things as gifts – a smile from a friend or a teacher, an unexpected hug from a mom or dad, the ability to play sports, the ability to dance, the ability to play an instrument or sing, a roof over our heads, food in our stomachs, shoes on our feet, clean water to drink, electricity, toothpaste, a sunrise or sunset, the rain, a quiet house, a full house… all things are gifts.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.  James 1:17 (NIV)

We rejoice in knowing that life changes, but our God remains the same.

This truth pushes worry out, because His presence gives us peace.

We rejoice in knowing that all things are gifts.

This truth fills our hearts with gratitude.

Do your thoughts include the gifts which surround you?

When we see the gifts we see the giver.

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16 (NIV)

When we see the giver of all gifts, we can’t help but say, “thank you” as our hearts are filled with indescribable joy.

Heavenly Father,
I praise you for who You are.  I praise you for being our “constant” in an ever-changing world.  I praise you for the gifts I see all around me – the good, the hard, and the beautiful.  May this not only be a season of “thanks” but a way to live life.  May we continue to see all things as gifts from You. M
ay you continue to fill our homes with peace and our hearts with indescribable joy.
In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen

Regardless of where you are, or where you have been, God loves you.  He loves you with an unconditional love, as a father loves a child.  He adores you, He cherishes you, and He is the giver of all gifts – the good, the hard, and the beautiful.

I am praying for the eyes of your hearts to be opened to see His gifts…each and every one of them.
With Love,
Mindy-2
