The Work Behind the Scenes
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28 NIV).
Before every big game, players put in hours of practice and hard work behind the scenes. You don’t just show up, get playing time, and score the winning goal or basket. Even when the game is happening, there are people who spectators never see, working diligently behind the scenes.
Behind every performance, actors, actresses, performers, and dancers put in hours of practice behind the scenes. Producers, stage managers, directors, choreographers, costume designers and many more people, who are never visible to the audience, put in hours and hours behind the scenes to ensure successful performances.
Hard and intense work has been taking place behind the scenes since the beginning of time.
For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities– all things have been created through Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16 NASB).
He created all things – everything we can see and everything behind the scenes.
Our God is a loving Father who works for us behind the scenes. Even when life doesn’t go as we plan, we can trust that He is working for us and fighting for us in all things behind the scenes.
Through the covenant of grace God offers redemption so that we may come to know Him, grow in Him, and completely trust Him, because according to His Word, what is seen is temporary, and what is unseen is eternal.
while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18 NASB).
When we cannot understand what is happening in the world, we can trust that God is at work behind the scenes bringing all the pieces together according to His eternal plan.
Heavenly Father,
I praise you for who You are – the Creator of all things created. Thank you for helping us understand that You have created all things visible and invisible. You take care of what we can not see. Help us to turn over our worries and concerns to you, Lord, as you work them out behind the scenes. Thank you for loving each one of us more than we can imagine.
May we place our trust in You since we know You can see the big picture.
