Overflow with Hope
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13 (NIV)
Hope gives birth to peace, peace creates courage, and courage is contagious!
In times of uncertainty, we have to hold onto what we know is certain. The first step in getting through today is trusting God.
We trust that He can see the big picture.
We trust that He is faithful.
We trust that He is for us.
And just as a parent wants to hear from her child, God wants to hear from you. Pray. Lean in. Listen.
Actively trusting God means that we take every thought captive to Christ. We filter what we hear with the truth based on God’s Word and we pray through it all.
So we don’t panic about what we see or hear. Instead we pray and the power of the Holy Spirit brings a peace that transcends all understanding to our tired and weary hearts.
When we actively trust God instead of what we see, our hope will give birth to peace, our peace will create courage and our courage will be contagious!
Heavenly Father, Please help me to trust You regardless of what I may hear or see in the world these upcoming days. Trusting in You brings peace to my weary heart and that peace is what gives me the courage for today! Thank you for today, Lord. May my courage be contagious! In the precious name of Jesus I pray, Amen
