Jesus is Our Living Hope – Happy Easter

Jesus Draws Us to Him

When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. Mark 16:1-2 ESV

Many saw Jesus. Many witnessed His healings and miracles and listened to His teachings. Not everyone recognized Jesus as The Son of God, but everyone knew there was something special about Him. Even today, not everyone recognizes Jesus as The Son of God, but everyone knows there is something special about Him.

He is Risen

And they were saying to one another, Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. Mark 16:3-4 ESV

Peace Be With You

On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’ When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.’ John 19:20-23 ESV

His words to His disciples were, “Peace be with you.”

His words to you and me are, “Peace be with you.”

Jesus overcame death, and in Him, someday, so will we. He is our Living Hope and eternal peace.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 ESV

Heavenly Father, Thank You for sending Your precious Son to die on the cross for me. Thank You for not letting Him stay there but for bringing Him back to life to live with you for eternity, and to give me a Living Hope. Peace is not found in a place. Peace is found in the person of Jesus. He is a Hope that is with us today by the power of The Holy Spirit and hope that we carry for tomorrow, and for that my heart is eternally grateful.

Happy Resurrection Sunday! Because He lives, so do those who come to Him, believe in Him, and place their trust in Him. Do you believe? Will you trust Him today?
Many blessings,

Basking in His Light
