Created to GO Together!

You and I are Created to Go Together

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” -African Proverb

As I walk out my call in ministry, I find myself in a place of prayer, with a heart full of trust and humility. Ministry is never meant to be done alone.

“Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their toil.” Ecclesiastes 4:9 (ESV)

Waiting is Uncomfortably Full of Trust

While waiting for a ministry team to form, I cannot say it is comfortable. I can say it is scary and full of trust. Thinking about finding partners who want to walk together is humbling and hard.

But this call to ministry is real. I know since He called me, He will pave the way. So I trust He will provide the partners who want to go the distance because I know He has called them, too.

Some people are called to pray.
Some people are called to give.
And some people are called to go.

I have been in all three of these positions, and I am grateful for every role He has given me to advance the kingdom.

You can pray, and if you don’t, only God notices.
You can give, and if you don’t, only God and your team notice.
You can go, but if you don’t, how will they hear?

There is a lot riding on the calling.

And then God provides the sweetest moments when He places it on a person’s heart to go the distance with me or the women’s ministry created within the Fellowship of Christian Athletes called [THE] Huddle: for women.

These sweet pictures are a glimpse of the women and men who are going the distance with me.

Who Makes Up a Ministry Team?

It begins with one person who is called to go.
Then, those who want to come with her in financial support join.
Sometimes it is one person.
Sometimes it is one couple.
Sometimes it is a church.
Sometimes it is a business.
For the past two years, a non-profit thrift shop on my beloved Hilton Head Island has felt the call to partner with [THE] Huddle: for women so we may fund the created resources for athletes, coaches, and coaches’ spouses and give them away for free.

“Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.” Philippians 1:4-5 (ESV)

Advancing the kingdom is the most humbling honor that can only be done with a team who shows up with humble hearts to serve God together.

“I have found that there are three stages in every work of God; first it is impossible, then it is difficult, then it is done.” -Hudson Taylor

“So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.” 1 Corinthians 3:7 (ESV)

When God calls us, it’s our responsibility to show up to create space for Him to do the growth! May He continue to cause the growth, and may we continue to give Him the glory!
To God be the glory in all things!

Thank you to those God has called to walk this ministry journey with me.
Thank you to those who show up for partnerships with other ministries who advance the kingdom.
