Overcoming Doubt: How Trust Leads to Miracles

“Do whatever He tells you,” his mother told the servants. John 2:5 (CSB)

Isn’t life full of questions? Where should I go to college? Which job is the right fit for me? Who should I marry? Where do we want to live? What’s for dinner tonight? And honestly, sometimes even the smallest questions like, How do I find time to go to the gym? seem overwhelming.

When we’re feeling unsure, we can remember Mary’s simple but powerful words to the disciples, “Do whatever He tells you.” (John 2:5)

No matter what anyone else says.
No matter what anyone else doesn’t say.
No matter how much of a “reach” it appears to you today.

When we hear the call, “Do whatever He tells you,” our faith has to be bigger than our fear. It’s trusting that, even when we don’t have all the answers, He’s leading us somewhere good.

Hebrews 11:1 reminds us: “Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.” (CSB)

But here’s the question: are you close enough to hear the call? When my kids were little, I’d call them in for dinner. They couldn’t hear me if they were too far out in the yard. The farther they were, the harder it was for them to listen.

When we don’t know which path to take, we can trust the choice that brings us closer to His heart is the right one. That’s what I love about the way Mother Teresa put it when a man asked her to pray for clarity, “I’ve never had clarity; what I’ve always had is trust. So I’ll pray that you trust God.”

God keeps His promises. When we trust His Word and seek Him with all our hearts, He reveals His plan step by step. It’s in these moments that miracles unfold.

Just ask the disciples. They watched as Jesus turned water into wine right before their eyes. It was beyond their understanding, but precisely what they needed at that moment believe.

When you’re unsure, reach for His hand. He’ll guide you, and in return, He’ll give you His heart.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your words that were a call to action over 2,000 years ago, just as they are to our hearts today. Help us to be so close to you, that we can hear when You call, and follow in the right direction. Thank You for loving us so perfectly. In Your Precious Name, I pray, Amen
