Found: A Connection Through Service

Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. John 12:26

Serving in His name brings people of all nations and ages together…

IMG_7945This beautiful group of people, from around the world, came together to serve and love on inner-city children.

Often it’s those who serve who are the most blessed… that is what happened this weekend.

Love is not patronizing and charity isn’t about pity, it is about love. Charity and love are the same — with charity you give love, so don’t just give money but reach out your hand instead. Mother Teresa
Laughter resonated in the hearts of the children.  Tears were shed when our group departed.  Hearts were heavy, but they held on to the hope of being able to serve again soon, so that the same joy would be experienced by all.

The first question which the priest and the Levite asked was: ‘If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me?’ But…the good Samaritan reversed the question: ‘If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him? Martin Luther King, Jr.

You don’t have to be involved in international missions to serve.
There are places right in your town where you can get involved.  Your neighbor next door might need help mowing the lawn, an encouraging word, or a plate of fresh-baked cookies.
I encourage you to ask God to open your eyes to make the needs obvious to you, so that you may be His hands and feet and begin changing the world one life at a time.
You have an opportunity to make an impact for Him – don’t let fear hold you back!
Where do you serve?
