An Unconditional Love…For Who I Am

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
John 1:12 (NIV)

From the moment I held my firstborn, I loved them unconditionally.
Family Pic July 2004 170A mother does not need to be taught how to love this way.
I carried them for nine months, feeling their every move, as God fashioned them in my womb.
Unconditional love.
A love born not out of what they do, but out of who they are.

In the same beautiful and deep way we love our children, God loves us.

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again;
rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.
And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15 (NIV)

He loves us because He created us, redeemed us, and gave us His Spirit.

But now, this is what the Lord says—
he who created you, Jacob,
he who formed you, Israel:
‘Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.’ Isaiah 43:1 (NIV)

Receive. Believe. Belong.
We are His children.
We are not perfect, but redeemed into perfection and adopted into His family.
We are beloved (dearly loved) for who we are, not what we do.
We are cherished and adored forever.

A shift of perspective from ours to His allows us to understand who we are in Him and lets us see How He Loves….For that, I am grateful!

    It’s so cool that I posted this morning about how thankful (Day 7 of 30 days of thanks) I am for unconditional love and now I am reading your blog post about it. I love how he loves us and gives us the right people to love us unconditionally too!

    Have a fabulous day!
