Rooted in Radiance

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. (Hebrews 1:3, NASB)

The strength of His glory cannot help but radiate.
With every step he took, Jesus radiated The Father’s glory.

Christ’s actions reflected God’s worldview.

God loved his children with patience. Jesus taught patience.
God loved his children with mercy.  Jesus taught mercy.
God loved his children with forgiveness.  Jesus taught forgiveness.
God loved his children with grace.  Jesus taught grace.

Christ was with God in the beginning (John 1:1). He knew the beginning of the story, and He knows the end (Genesis 3:14-15).

He knew the promise.

He knew His purpose for descending to earth.  Through the womb of a woman He came as fully man and fully God. He loved how God loved – completely and unconditionally.  Then He died with our sin, so we could be free from sin.

His death on the cross purified us, but He didn’t stay there.

Death did not win. Death does not win.

Jesus returned to The Father.  God raised Him to sit at His right hand as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Revelation 19:16).

Jesus returned to His roots when God raised Him to life.

In Him, our roots grow deep into His radiance when God raises us to life with Him.

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, (Ephesians 2:6, NIV).

In Him our citizenship is in heaven, deeply rooted in His radiance.

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, (Philippians 3:20, NIV)

Heavenly Father, I praise You for sending your Son to radiate Your glory on earth as it is in heaven.  I praise You for giving Him the ability to lead us and teach us Your ways.  I thank You for letting Him die for our sins and giving us the gift of eternal life. I thank You for raising Him to life.  He is our Living Hope.  According to Your Word, we are raised with Him and we become citizens of heaven deeply rooted in His radiance.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
